Data Modelling Using EXPRESS-G for IFC Development

چکیده
EXPRESS-G is a graphical modeling notation developed within STEP and used for IFC definition. It is used to identify classes, the data attributes of classes and the relationships that exist between classes. EXPRESS-G is directly related to the EXPRESS data definition language. That is, everything that is drawn in EXPRESS-G can be defined in EXPRESS. However, not everything that can be defined in EXPRESS can be drawn in EXPRESS-G.

Performance of Different (bim/ifc) Exchange Formats within a Private Collaborative Workspace for Collaborative Work
This paper reports on research work done to incorporate an end user private workspace for each stakeholder in a collaborative BIM (Building Information Modelling) environment using a central model server. It focuses on reducing the complexity and improving the performance of obtaining IFC early binding runtime objects from stored persistent models. The paper discusses and describes the various ...
متن کاملManipulating IFC sub - models in Collaborative Teamwork Environments
This paper addresses the problem of workflow management in collaborative teamwork environments, where multidisciplinary actors and software applications are involved. Design versions or variants may represent different development stages, partial designs or solution alternatives that need to be integrated together. The paper presents a novel approach to splitting and merging IFC sub-models (par...
متن کاملIfc-compliant Design Information Modeling and Sharing
This paper presents a method for IFC-compliant design information modelling and sharing by use of the IFC technology and IFC property set (Pset) extension mechanism. The method comprises defining the nonstandard and project-specific design information in extensible and interoperable Psets, instantiating these Pset definitions with CAD object information and generating IFC-compliant product mode...
متن کاملHighlights of the Development Process of Industry Foundation Classes
The Industry Foundation Classes, IFC, are developed by the International Alliance for Interoperability, IAI, to provide for data exchange and sharing capabilities for the building and construction sector of the industry. Since the foundation of the IAI back in 1995 two releases of IFC had already been published and the third release is on its way. Many prototype implementations by leading softw...
متن کاملEfficient binary serialization of IFC models using HDF5
The Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) are a common file-based open standard to describe Building Information Models. An IFC file can describe a building model to a level of detail suitable for production use and unite information pertaining to all stakeholders involved in a construction project. IFC files can possibly constitute up to gigabytes of data. Processing the full extent of this data c...
